Library

The Society of Actuaries library is located in the SOA office in Schaumburg, Illinois. The library collection includes copies of Society publications, reports, studies and yearbooks, as well as some 1,600 books, special actuarial publications and a wide range of domestic and foreign publications.

The SOA library includes all currently published Society periodicals. Other important publications include TSA—Transactions of the Society of Actuaries (1949–1995), TSR–Transactions of the Society of Actuaries Reports (1949–) and many other research reports, monographs, studies, etc. A current list of new acquisitions is available. Most of the publications (from 1949 on) have been scanned and are now available in the Publications Library Search on the SOA Web site. The SOA library tries to keep printed versions of most publications in its collection too.

The library collection also includes historical publications from 1889 until today. Some of these include copies of the TASA–Transactions of the Actuarial Society of America (1889–1949) and RAIA–Record of the American Institute of Actuaries (1909–1949). These publications are available in printed versions only.
