In Memory of Stanley L. Eisner
Stanley L. Eisner, age 90, passed away at his residence in Middletown, New Jersey on November 21, 2007, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 4, 1917 in Queens, New York, to the late Phillip and Anna Eisner.
After graduating from City College of New York in 1937, he started serving as a mathematics teacher at a local high school. With the intention of pursuing a business career, he completed actuarial examinations and joined the Prudential Insurance Company of America in 1942. There he specialized in life insurance and pension plans. After serving as vice president of the company at its Florham Park office, he retired in 1978.
After his retirement from Prudential, Eisner served on the State Board of Human Services of New Jersey for three years, and as chair of the National Industrial Group Pension Plans for 25 years.
In 1960 he married Helen Theologes whom he had met at Prudential. They nurtured a warm and caring relationship for each other throughout their marriage of 47 years. They traveled all over the world on many occasions, sharing an appreciation of different cultures and works of art. They looked after their parents with great devotion while enjoying their own lives to the fullest.
Eisner is survived by his wife Helen; his daughter and her husband Ellen and Mahendra Wijesinghe; younger grandson and his wife, Lilan and Tracy Wijesinghe; and great-grandchildren Michael, Justin, Shane and Evita.
