In Memory of Michael Kazakoff

Michael Kazakoff passed away on May 5, 2008. Kazakoff was 85 years old and lived in Omaha.

Kasakoff was from Winnipeg, Manitoba. His first permanent job as an actuary was at CNA in Chicago. Later he worked at a consulting firm in that city. He came to Mutual of Omaha around 1970 as chief actuary. In 1990, United and Mutual of Omaha merged the two actuarial departments and he became chief actuary of all the Mutual of Omaha Companies.

Kazakoff retired in 1993. He loved to hunt and fish and would go on fishing trips in northern Canada in the spring. He especially liked duck hunting and continued to hunt and fish long into retirement.

He is survived by his wife Patricia; his sons Peter (Kathy); Stephen (Carol); John and daughter Amy (Paul Collins); and three grandchildren.
