In Memory of Ronald John Dandy

Ronald John Dandy, FSA, MAAA, died at his Topeka home February 13, 2010. He was 58.

Dandy was born on October 14, 1951 in Sacramento, the son of William and Mildred (Reber) Dandy. He received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Redlands. Dandy worked at Transamerica/Occidental for 10 years and Security Benefit for 26 years.

He was a third generation actuary, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, John Dandy, and father, William Dandy. He was an Eagle Scout and had been a Boy Scout Scoutmaster. He also volunteered with the Girl Scouts and 4-H.

He was married June 16, 1973 at Redondo Beach to Linda Chapman. He is survived by his wife, Linda; three children Jonathan Dandy of Indepedence, MO; Mary Kathryn Argeropoulos of Paola, KS; and Veronica Dockery of Gentry, AR; his mother Mildred Dandy of Ventura, CA; a brother Bruce Dandy of Oxnard, CA; a sister Cynthia Bali of Bradenton, FL; and 11 grandchildren.

Memorial services were held February 16, 2010 at Rolling Hills Christian Church, 4530 NW Hiawatha, Topeka, KS 66618 where memorial contributions may be made.
