In Memory of Michael James Tucker

Michael James Tucker, FSA, MAAA, passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2010. He was 62.

Tucker was born June 24, 1948 in Iowa City, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1971 to 1974. After retiring as a second lieutenant, he worked as an actuary in Kansas City and then in Clearwater. Tucker was a fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He was an avid reader and devoted family man.

Tucker is survived by his wife, Kay; his mother, Betty Lou; and his brother, Richard and wife Buffie, both of Iowa City, Iowa; his children, Meridith and husband Scott Burba of Marietta, Georgia; James and wife Shannon of Charlotte, North Carolina; Matthew and Sara; and his four grandchildren.
