In Memory of Robert W. Wilson

Robert (Bob) William Wilson, FSA, passed away at Ian Anderson Home, Oakville, Ontario on Feb. 6, 2010 after a six-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Wilson spent 38 years working in the actuarial profession at Sun Life Assurance of Canada. His last position at Sun Life was vice president & chief actuary. He is remembered by his colleagues for his great insight, mentoring and contributions to his profession. Wilson was also quite an accomplished photographer in his spare time.

With regard to involvement at the SOA, Wilson served on the Advisory Group of the Course 7 Education Committee. He was a member and served as secretary of the Actuarial Education and Research Fund Committee. In addition, Wilson was a member of the Financial Reporting Section Council.

He is survived by his wife Eileen Louise Wilson, sister Shirley Elizabeth Wright and nephew Gregory Wright. Wilson also has a goddaughter Danica Wong.
