In Memory of William A. Barrett

William A. Barrett, ASA, passed away on June 21, 2006, in Palm Bay, Florida at the age of 68. He was an actuary for over 35 years, specializing in employee benefit plans.

Barrett was born August 9, 1937, in Saratoga Springs, New York and later moved to Lakewood, Florida. He graduated from Oberlin College in Ohio and began his actuarial career with the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company. He later worked at Eugene M. Klein, Associates; Wyatt Company; CAI Consultants; TPF&C; National Associates, Inc. and Coast Consultants. He ended his career as a self-employed pension actuary in the San Diego area. He retired in 1994.

Barrett is survived by his wife of 40 years, Eileen, his daughter Susanne Moser, and his granddaughters, Emily and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Barrett, FSA. He was actively involved with the Prince of Peace Anglican Church in Satellite Beach, Florida.
