In Memory of William G. Schneider

William G. Schneider, FSA, passed away on March 16, 2006 at Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines after a brief illness. Schneider joined the Bankers Life Company (now Principal Financial Group) in 1946. At Bankers, he was initially involved with the development of the Group Life Insurance Department. Later, as head of the Group Department, he represented Bankers within the health insurance industry, and was an active member of the Society of Actuaries. At Bankers, Schneider was an executive vice president and a member of the Board of Governors.

In Des Moines, Schneider was actively involved with Grandview College, the Des Moines Science Center, the Des Moines Golf and Country Club and the United Way.

Survivors include Steve and Cindy Schneider and their children Alexandra and Lauren of Belvedere, California and Richard and Mary Schneider and their children Chris and Jennifer of Troy, Michigan. Phyllis, his wife of 50 years, died in 1993.
