Forget the Paper–Access Transcripts and Tickets of Admission Online By: Brett Rogers, SOA Registrar
The SOA has recently implemented two new online services that will greatly increase efficiency and convenience for candidates of the SOA's examinations: online access to examination transcripts and tickets of admission.
Candidates can view and print transcripts right at their computers by going to Exams Results. After logging in to the system, the online transcript display will allow users to sort their exam records alphabetically or chronologically, and to view and print grade slips and transcripts.
Beginning with registration for the November 2007 examinations, candidates registering for SOA exams are now e–mailed the acknowledgement letter/ticket of admission as an attachment upon completion of their registration order. Candidates can reprint the acknowledgement letter/ticket of admission at anytime by going to Exams Registration and clicking on "Get your acknowledgement letter/ticket of admission." Don't forget to also check the exact address of your exam center location by clicking on "Examination Center Locations and Center Changes."
November 2007 Exam P/1 candidates will still have their tickets of admission sent via regular mail because these candidates must schedule an appointment to take the exam at their nearest Thomson Prometric test center.
The SOA plans to go fully "paperless" in 2008, with the successful implementation of online access to examination transcripts and tickets of admission. Beginning with the November 2007 grade release in January 2008, the SOA will release final grade results for all of its examinations only to the online transcript facility. Most employers and universities will accept transcripts printed from the online system as being official. However, official transcripts (with a watermark) may still be requested by contacting our Customer Service Center at customerservice@soa.org or at 888.697.3900.
