The objective of this webcast is to provide the global actuarial community with new and emerging enterprise risk management (ERM) practices from different geographical regions. This webcast will include speakers from Asia/Pacific, Europe and the Americas offering insight into ERM best practices.
The webcast objectives include:
- Disseminating and promoting global ERM best practices to the actuarial community;
- Offering accessible information about ERM to actuaries;
- Facilitating the discussion of practical and theoretical ERM issue and possible solutions;
- Promoting global standards of best practices in ERM .
The geographically diverse planning committee has developed a program with two tracks of sessions:
Track One
This pre-recorded track includes basic introduction sessions that registrants will have access to as a part of their registration and can view at their own convenience. These sessions will include Embedding ERM within the Organization, Economic Capital, Emerging Risks Management, Setting Risk Appetite, CEO and Board Roles in ERM.
These sessions will be available on November 19 via the web to all registered participants.
Track Two
This track consists of live sessions, of which the topics will be repeated three times with each session offering different speakers and a regional spin appropriate for each of the three regions. These sessions will include Market Consistent Risk Management, Does ERM Need an Economic Capital Model, The Pros and Cons of Economic Capital Models vs. Stress Testing, and Is ERM Any Real Use in Soft Markets?
Who should participate
- Actuaries who are currently practicing in the ERM arena within insurers or consultancies
- Actuaries and actuarial students who planning to practice ERM at insurers in the future.
- Non-actuarial risk officers may also participate in the webcast and it is planned to permit the International Association of Insurance Supervisors the ability to use the webcast for its own insurance regulator education initiative.
The registration fee includes: one Internet connection and one set of presentation materials. Please copy and distribute the handout materials to all attendees at your site. You may have unlimited participant attendance at your site, but each login may only be used once.
