Adrian Baskir, President of ASSA, Presents Howard Bolnick with Honorary ASSA Membership
Baskir speech:
Howard Bolnick is a fellow and past president of the Society of Actuaries (USA), a member of the Academy of Actuaries (USA) and an honorary fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK).
Apart from chairing the IAAHS Committee, Howard serves on the IAA Committees on Advice and Assistance, Professionalism and Supranational Relations.
Howard has more than 40 years’ experience as a health actuary and insurance executive, having served for 15 years as president of a U.S. health insurance company. He is currently an independent consultant to health insurance companies and adjunct professor of finance at the prestigious Kellogg School of Management.
In the international actuarial arena, Howard has been a major supporter of the Actuarial Society of South Africa. His strong and open support for ASSA played a major part in ASSA’s successful bids to host the 2007 IAA Health Section Colloquium and the 2010 International Congress of Actuaries.
Through his membership of and leadership positions in the actuarial profession, including various IAA structures, he has been a staunch supporter of ASSA in the international actuarial arena.
It is my pleasure, therefore, to present him with his certificate of honorary membership of ASSA, an honour that was bestowed on him at the 2006 ASSA Annual General Meeting.
