- Contact: John Riley
The 2005 Society of Actuaries Spring Life Meeting, May 23–24 in New Orleans, is introducing a new meeting format that features nine highly focused "embedded seminars" that offer in–depth knowledge on issues critical to life practitioners. Seminar topics include universal life secondary guarantees (4 1/2 hours), annuity risk management (7 1/2 hours) and economic risk capital (3 hours). This design enables attendees to attend two or three seminars in each area of interest over two days.
Attendees will also be able to choose from thirty 90–minute sessions on issues crucial to financial reporting, investment, product development and risk management actuaries. Meeting highlights include an exclusive case study on Universal Life Secondary Guarantees that will highlight how actuaries are approaching this dilemma; a 3 1/2 hour session on how to effectively participate in reinsurance treaty negotiations and the latest news and insights on key life products (annuities, UL, equity–linked life) and U.S. GAAP.
