The Society of Actuaries and the North American Actuarial Council's work to create a dynamic and relevant image of the actuarial profession was recognized with the Silver SABRE Award. The SABRE Award stands for Superior Achievement in Branding and Reputation and is one of the top awards given by the public relations industry. The judges evaluated Actuaries–Risk is Opportunity. The Revitalization of a Profession's "Brand" on the criteria of 1) taking a strategic approach and using insights underpinned by research and planning, 2) demonstrating innovative thinking, 3) delivering executional excellence, 4) the campaign's effectiveness and 5) a public relations campaign marked with the highest ethical standards.
The actuarial profession was one of five finalists for this prestigious award. Other nominees in the association category included the Computing Technology industry, Pharmaceutical and Research Manufacturers of America, Enterprise Architects and First 5 LA (a child–advocacy organization).
The SOA thanks GolinHarris, its official agency of record, for its assistance in the work to maintain actuaries' leadership in traditional fields of business and to promote our expertise and qualification for leadership roles in risk management.
