First Attestation Period for the SOA's CPD Requirement Has Ended; New Category in Membership Directory Added
The SOA CPD Requirement's first attestation period (for the 2009-2010 CPD cycle) ended on Feb. 28, 2011. The SOA would like to thank all members who attested CPD compliance by the deadline.
The membership directory now includes a category titled, "SOA Continuing Professional Development Requirement." Under this category, your compliance status with the SOA CPD Requirement for the CPD cycle just ended (2009-2010) is listed. For members who attested compliance (or who were new SOA members), the directory shows them as "Compliant (2009-2010)." Members subject to reduced dues because of retirement are shown as "Retired (2009-2010)." Finally, status for members who attested they were non-compliant is shown as "Non-compliant (2009-2010)."
The directory shows a member's CPD status as "Pending (2009-2010)" if that member has not yet attested compliance with the SOA CPD Requirement. The SOA has added additional time in this first attestation cycle for members to attest compliance with the SOA CPD Requirement. Members who have not yet attested compliance will have their status shown as "Pending (2009-2010)" through April 30, 2011. The status of members who do not attest by April 30, 2011 will be switched to "Non-compliant (2009-2010)" as of May 1, 2011.
We have published information on the SOA website that discusses disclosure of members' compliance with the SOA CPD Requirement, including adding a new section of frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the disclosure of members' compliance.
Members who haven't yet attested compliance can still attest through the membership directory. Directions for attestation, the electronic link to attest and the PDF form for paper attestation can be found on the SOA website. Questions about attestation or the CPD Requirement can be sent to cpdcomments@soa.org.
