The following list presents a number of papers, presentations and information that provide background material for this Call for Papers. The list may be updated with additional source material, as appropriate. - Actuarial Standards of Practice (ASOP) Number 4 & 27; public pension plans are generally financed using traditional actuarial assumptions (e.g. discounting cash flows using an expected rate of return on assets supporting the cash flows as discussed in ASOP 27 and using traditional actuarial funding methods (e.g. there are six such common methods listed in GASB 27 and others set forth in ASOP 4).
