In this project the researchers explored the new opportunities provided by the ongoing revolution in information technology for studies of exceptional human longevity. Methodologies and interpretation of the results were presented.

The objective of this paper is to investigate dynamic properties of age trajectories of physiological indices and their effects on mortality risk and longevity using longitudinal data on more than 5,000 individuals collected in biennial examinations of the Framingham Heart Study (FHS) original cohort during about 50 subsequent years of follow-up.

This paper summarizes the results of Phase 3 of a three-phase study by the Society of Actuaries on the impact of mortality decline on social security systems in Canada, Mexico and the United States the NAFTA countries. Adequacy of social security financing depends upon having a large enough working population base to support payments to the beneficiaries. As the population ages and the retired population grows faster than the working population, there will be potential problems for social security financing.
