Centers of Actuarial Excellence Appeals Board (CAB)

The CAE program allows universities and colleges with outstanding actuarial programs the opportunity to be recognized for that achievement and to compete for substantial grants for education and research. It is a key component in the SOA's plan to strengthen the position of the academic branch of the profession. An evaluation committee reviews applications for CAE status, conducts site visits and awards CAE designations for new applicants.

The CAE Appeals Board (CAB) hears appeals from universities that believe they should have received a site visit or should have been awarded CAE status. The CAB may overturn CAE Evaluation Committee (CEC) decision.
