2014 Deceased Member — Marc M. Twinney, Jr.

Marc M. Twinney, Jr., passed away on Feb. 5, 2014. He was 83.

Twinney earned his B.A. in mathematics from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Harvard University. He was a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Marc served as the Director of Pensions at the Ford Motor Company and was a member of many professional groups including the Conference of Consulting Actuaries and the Washington Pension Report Group. He also consulted with the U.S. Civil Service system. Marc served for many years on the Advisory Board of the Pension Research Council at the Wharton School of Business, and he co-edited the volume Positioning Pensions for the Twenty-first Century, with Michael S. Gordon and Olivia S. Mitchell.

Marc is survived by Phyllis, his wife of 57 years, three sons, and seven grandchildren.
