In Memory of John W. Morris

John W. Morris, 62, of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family. John was FSA 1984 and MAAA 1980. He was the devoted and cherished husband of Lee Morrison Morris, married nearly 24 years. Lee will forever miss his friendship and steadfast belief in her. He was the caring and dedicated father to his son Joseph W. Morris. He seamlessly blurred the lines between coach, mentor, and friend. He was the son of the late Joseph F. and Louise Orfanelli Morris. John treasured spending time with his family, playing ice hockey, and anything to do with baseball. This passion was evidenced by his Little League coaching skills, his umpiring prowess, and the ability to recall any baseball statistic.

Morris worked in the actuarial field for over 40 years. He spent the last 26 years of his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. John was well published in the field, served on many SOA and AAA committees, and presented at SOA meetings. The support and guidance he provided will be greatly missed by all that worked with him. John contributed more to the actuarial profession than most can aspire to do. In addition to his wife and son, John was the loving brother of Joseph (Patti), James (Ann), Patricia Joyce, Carole Morris, LuAnne (Robert) Garvey and Joan (Raymond) Armstrong. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall Street, West Chester, PA 19380.
