In Memory of Charles L. Walls

Charles Lambert Walls, FSA 1966, of Chicago, died peacefully at home on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the age of 88.
Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1928 to Louise Moore and Gordon Walls, Charles attended the University of Chicago as an early entrant and finished with a B.S. in Mathematics in 1954. He went on to become an actuary, co-founding his own company, Daskais and Walls. His passions included all things French: food, wine, and the language; the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; Opera (particularly Wagnerian); stage lighting for community theatre (The Quadrangle Club Revels, University of Chicago Gilbert & Sullivan, Shirley Mordine Dance Company, and The Last Stage); and wearing red socks.
He married Helen Gearhart in 1950 and had four daughters, all of whom survive him: Karen Walls (Bill) of Novato, California, Cynthia Walls Clancy (Ed) of Chicago, Erica Mauldin of Chicago, and Maria Bell (Johnny) of Chicago. He married Cappy Sequeira in 1983 and is survived by her and his step-children: Jennifer Meyer of Vernon Hills, Illinois, and Jon Sequeira (Natalie) of Vancouver, Washington. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
