The authors of the August 2015 report "Corporate Pension Risk Management and Corporate Finance: Bridging the Gap between Theory and Practice in Pension Risk Management" will discuss the report and its implications for better strategic management of corporate pension plans. The focus will be on tools and considerations that will be helpful for actuaries to analyze corporate defined benefit (DB) pension plans from a corporate finance perspective. Topics will include: How should corporate financial metrics be adjusted for DB pension plans? How to quantify the trade-off between pension risk and capital? Are there empirical evidences on how DB pension plans impact stock prices and credit spreads?

This webcast recording is recommended to meet Enrolled Actuary continuing education requirements. While the sponsors of this program recommends this topic to satisfy 1.80 EA Non-Core Continuing Education credit for Enrolled Actuaries, the final decision as to meeting this requirement rests with the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries.
