The field of public health does important work around the world in keeping populations safe and healthy. There is much that the actuarial profession can learn and bring into our practice as we work toward the triple aim of improving the health care experience, improving population health and reducing costs. This session will review some examples of public and population health initiatives and their economic and business case. It will also talk about the work of the SOA's Public Health Task force and how actuaries can get involved in their communities.
