Who Should Participate

Members of the following sections: Long-Term Care Insurance, as well as all others with an interest in the topic.

LTC products have struggled to maintain stable premiums and produce company profits over the past three decades. To understand the causes of past stability issues and forecast the stability for new products going forward, the Long Term Care Section performed the recently completed 2015 Long- Term Care pricing study. The researchers gathered actual industry-wide pricing assumptions for three points in time-2000, 2007 and 2014-in order to stochastically test the risk of future rate increases at each point. The researchers then analyzed in more detail what assumptions caused unfavorable experience in the past and evaluated the risk of current assumptions causing similar issues going forward. Presenters at this webcast will present the results of the study. Attendees will be shown how LTC insurance pricing has changed over the fifteen-year period, regarding pricing stability and the profit opportunity for new LTC insurance businesses.
