Are you a pension actuary looking to increase your investment acumen?

Are you wanting to better understand your clients’ investment options for managing pension risk?

The current trends of liability-driven investing (LDI), risk management and de-risking strategies make a robust investment acumen increasingly important for engaging with clients and helping them reach their pension objectives. To help pension actuaries boost familiarity in this area and to engage with clients, the SOA is offering an investment boot camp to jump-start your knowledge while earning up to 7.50 SOA (6.25 CIA) CPD credits. For U.S. practitioners, the seminar also offers up to 7.50 non-core EA credits.

The Investment Boot Camp for Pension Actuaries is a seminar comprised of four sessions. Sponsored by the Retirement Section, this interactive learning event will cover a range of topics starting with fixed income and derivative markets and their application to pension liabilities before moving to discussions of other asset classes. We will finish up the day with instructions from experts about current pension investment strategies.

Co-sponsored by: Canadian Institute of Actuaries
