Soo-Meng Foo, FSA, MAAA, is the head of Thailand , Philippines and Vietnam for RGA Reinsurance Company, responsible for overseeing RGA’s pricing, business development, underwriting and claims activities in these countries. He is based in RGA’s Hong Kong Branch.
Foo has nearly 20 years of life insurance experience. He was a senior consultant with Towers Watson for nine years, working in its Singapore, Hong Kong and Seoul offices. During that time, he was involved in projects ranging from mergers and acquisitions, embedded value valuation for financial reporting, asset-liability modeling, economic capital modeling and framework, to product pricing and management training. The projects with which Foo was involved spanned multiple countries including China, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.
At AIA Group Limited, he worked both in its Singapore and Hong Kong regional offices, serving in actuarial roles supporting AIA’s operation in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.
Foo earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree in actuarial studies from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), and an Associate of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (AIAA).
George Kau, FSA
Executive Director, Actuarial Services for Malaysia
George Kau, FSA, spent his career with multinationals and local insurers in Malaysia, Labuan and Taiwan. He is responsible for nurturing talents for the reinsurance, general insurance and takaful practices.
Kau worked extensively on financial reporting and valuation functions. He is familiar with the Malaysian RBC/RBCT reporting frameworks for composite takaful operator. Kau is also familiar with statutory and value reporting, including In-Force Embedded Value (IFEV), New Business Embedded Value (NBEV), Individual Target Capital Level (ITCL), Capital Management Plan (CMP) and Stress Testing.
He acted as the appointed actuary for several takaful operators in Malaysia. Kau is also familiar with the insurance taxation regulations in Malaysia, including Labuan entities.
He contributed articles and presentations on general insurance/takaful topics in Asia-Pacific meetings and conferences. Kau presented several survey reports to Persatuan Insurance Am Malaysia (PIAM). He was invited for interviews by Malaysian radio stations on various emerging issues related to the insurance industry.
Additionally, Kau is involved in a wide range of actuarial projects including: Actuarial Review, IBNR Robotic, R Programming, Product Pricing Review, Experience Studies and Business Planning & Budgeting.
He graduated with a BSc in actuarial science from the University Kebangsaan Malaysia. Kau is a Fellow of Society of Actuaries (SOA) and the Greater Asia Committee member of the SOA.

Paul is the Director and Chief Strategy Officer of the PT. FWD Life Indonesia and has a long history of working in the insurance industry. Paul has developed his strong skills in Investment, Financial Risk, Risk Management, and Data Analysis over the past. He is also a finance professional, qualified actuary and CFA charter holder. Before his current role, Paul held many senior positions including the CFO and Director at the PT. FWD Life Indonesia, PT. AXA Financial Indonesia, Chief Actuary at the PT. Panin Life, Head of Customer Value and Product Management at PT. Asuransi CIGNA, and Corporate Actuary Senior Specialist at Cigna USA. Paul is passionate in education and strive to improve actuarial profession in Indonesia. He is the Head of Exam and Curriculum committee at the PAI and member of the Greater Asia Committee of the SOA currently. He was the Head of Product at the AAJI in 2017. He is a Fellow Society of Actuaries of Indonesia (FSAI), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and a member of American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).

Anilraj Pazhety, MBA, MS, has eight years of experience enabling analytics for clients across different industries. At RGA, he is involved in enabling business units to generate insights from data for business and strategic initiatives. Pazhety also works closely with technical teams to develop and commercialize algorithms. Prior to RGA, he was a senior data scientist at MRM-McCann developing machine learning models for clients like Google and Unilever.
Pazhety has a master’s degree in business analytics from the University of Connecticut, USA, an MBA as well as a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Mumbai. He also completed life insurance certifications -LOMA 280, LOMA 290 and LOMA 301.
William Soetrisno, FSA
William Soetrisno, FSA, heads the actuarial pricing team in Manulife Indonesia. He has experience in product design, project management, M&A, and several actuarial valuation and reporting. He is an SOA Greater Asia Committee Member.

Dian Augustini is an experienced development worker with over 10 years’ experience delivering multiple complex projects supported by various international donor agencies such as Asian Development Bank, United Nation Development Program, United States Agency for International Development, Australian Agency for International Development, Plan International Indonesia, and Global Affairs of Canada. She has broad experience assisting in the implementation and monitoring of initiatives focused on education management, health service, disaster management, vocational training and youth economic empowerment. Dian joined the Global Affairs Canada-funded University of Waterloo READI project in October 2016. During the 2017 - 2018 period, she successfully supported and encouraged the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education to issue a Circular Letter on Strengthening the Relevance of Higher Education 4.0 through Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning for Actuarial Science Study Programs. She holds a M.Sc. in Public Administration and a B.Sc. in Economic Development from Diponegoro University, Semarang, Central Java.

Fauzi Arfan joined Great Eastern Life in June 2015 and currently holds the position of Technique and Finance Director.
Prior to joining Great Eastern Life, Fauzi was Marketing and Technique Director of PT Asuransi Jiwa Tugu Mandiri. He began his career in the insurance industry in 1994 and has since enriched his experience and knowledge to build a career in PT Asuransi AIA Indonesia, PT Sun Life Financial Indonesia, PT Asuransi Jiwa Tugu Mandiri and AJB Bumiputera 1912. Fauzi has a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Padjadjaran University and has been a member of the Indonesian Actuarial Association (FSAI) since 2000. He has been registered as an Insurance Expert of Indonesia Life (AAIJ) since 2003.

Yanes Matulatuwa is the Head of Actuary Department for AAJI. He has 20 years’ experience in Life Insurance Industry in the areas of actuary and risk management. Yanes is also the President Director for the PT Asuransi Jiwa Adisarana Wanaartha since 2014. Prior to his role in PT Asuransi Jiwa Adisarana Wanaartha, he was the Director of Risk Management & Corporate Actuary for the PT Asuransi Jiwa Adisarana Wanaartha from 2011-2014. Before then, he was the Country Chief Actuary of the PT AXA Services Indonesia, Appointed Actuary for the PT AXA Financial Indonesia and Actuary Supervisor at the PT Asuransi Jiwa BDNI Life. Yanes earned his Bachelor of Mathematics from University of Indonesia, and Master of Applied Finance from the BINUS Business School.
