- After October 7, no refunds will be provided. However, you may transfer your registration to another SOA major meeting within one year of cancellation.
- An alternate attendee within the same organization may be substituted at any time prior to the conference start with no penalty. However, if the original attendee is a member and the substitute attendee is not, the difference in member and nonmember rate must be paid in full at time of substitution.
- You may transfer your registration to another program within one calendar year of this program. However, if the original program’s rate is less than the new program rate, you will be responsible to pay the difference at the time of registration.
- The Society of Actuaries reserves the right to cancel any event if conditions warrant. In the event of such cancellation, registration fees will be refunded in full. The Society of Actuaries is not responsible for any airfare or hotel cancellation fees that a registrant may incur due to event cancellation.

Session Registration

International Travel Information
Depending on where you live, you will need to meet certain entry requirements to visit Canada. Detailed information on travel to Canada, including Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) and Visa information, can be found on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website.
Green card holders, students on Visas and travelers from all other countries will require an eTA. An eTA ($7 CAD) can be applied for on your smartphone or computer. Most applications are approved within minutes, but we recommend applying a few weeks before scheduled travel in case you need to provide additional documents (as is the case with some applicants).
U.S. citizens do not require an eTA to travel into Canada; they require a passport. If you do not possess a U.S. Passport, visit the U.S. Department of State’s website. U.S. Passport application can take up to 6 weeks.
Currency
The Canadian dollar is Toronto’s currency. U.S. dollars are accepted in many Toronto establishments, however you will receive change in Canadian funds and exchange rates differ from merchant to merchant. Cash ATM machines are available throughout the city. Currency exchange is available at kiosks in the city and at the airport.
Mobile Phone Roaming
If you plan to use your cellular phone frequently, you may want to consider options that keep heavy roaming costs at bay. Check with your service provider for international travel plans.
