Keynote Speaker on Resilience
Dr. Paul G. Stoltz is considered the world’s leading authority on the integration and application of GRIT and resilience. Today, GRIT and the Adversity Quotient (AQ) are the most widely adopted methods of their kind in the world for measurably enhancing one’s resilience and agility.
This panel brings together innovators and educators to discuss innovation and disruption. Join us for this inspiring discussion, moderated by Kelly Hennigan, FSA, CFA, from the SOA Professional Development Committee. The panel features Ellen Ayoob from Carnegie Mellon University’s Integrated Innovation Institute, who works with human-centered research and design innovation; marketing and consumer behavior expert Peggy Liu from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Business; and design activist / ethnographer Uday Dandavate from Carnegie Mellon’s Integrated Innovation Institute and design research company SonicRim.
Climate Risk Symposium
Join us on November 2 for the half-day “Climate Risk Symposium – The Evolving Role of the Actuary in Climate Risk” virtual event, which is included with your ImpACT Conference registration. The symposium highlights the work of the SOA Research Institute’s Catastrophe & Climate Strategic Research Program. Six back-to-back sessions offer perspectives on topics from regulatory disclosure and projected changes to actuarial tools and assumptions, and what practicing climate actuaries are doing in their work today. Shape the Future
The 2021 ImpACT Conference theme is “Shape the Future.” Come together to focus on innovation and the opportunities ahead for our profession as the world recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic and works to build a new future. Key volunteers, members and SOA staff, identified the overall idea to drive discussion and meeting content for this event as Demonstrating Relevancy in an Evolving World. It’s a broad, bold future-oriented statement and one we believe should be discussed and debated among members and our related industries.
Four topics were identified to drive the meeting content:
- Spearheading innovation through change
- Safeguarding populations
- Cultivating future opportunities
- Protecting long-term economic progress

Reduced Registration Fees
A partial waiver equal to 50 percent of the SOA member registration fee (excluding all extra-cost activities) is available for SOA members and credential holders who:
- Are full-time academics and Ph.D. candidates, subject to a limit of $2,500 in aggregate partial waivers of meeting fees per calendar year
- Are employed in the government or are unemployed and not eligible for reimbursement, subject to a limit of one continuing education event per calendar year
- Have received a waiver of member dues or credential fees for the calendar year in accordance with the SOA’s dues waiver policy, subject to a limit of one continuing education event per calendar year
In addition, a partial waiver equal to 50 percent of the SOA member registration fee is available for full-time faculty at a CAE school and for SOA Hickman Scholars, subject to a limit of $2,500 in aggregate partial waivers of meeting fees per calendar year.

You will receive an email confirmation of your online order. Mail-in registration confirmations are emailed after the order has been processed. If you do not receive a confirmation, please log in to your account at MY SOA to confirm your order was placed. To request another copy of the confirmation order or to update your registration, please contact SOA Customer Service at email@example.com.
Session selection is not required when initially registering on the SOA’s website. Attendees will select virtual sessions and build their agendas once the virtual platform opens just prior to the event start date.
To ensure inclusion on the attendee list, your online registration must be completed by October 15th.
