Help Grow the SOA Forest
SOA Cares is working with ZEERO EVENTS to plant trees and invest into renewable energy projects to reduce our carbon emission footprint created by putting on the Health Meeting. ZEERO EVENTS works with organizations to make “travel and events planet and people positive.” Fill out the survey to see how many trees will be planted based on your travel to the meeting.
Sustainability Efforts
To keep up with SOA sustainability efforts, attendees are encouraged to bring their own refillable water bottles and complete the ZEERO EVENTS survey.
There will be increased recycling bins throughout the meeting space, and name badges and lanyards are completely recyclable – look for the collection boxes near the registration desk. Additionally, where possible, we make every effort to reduce single-use plastics at all F&B functions, use linen-less tables, and choose sustainable menus to prevent food waste.
Wordly
As an added accessibility feature, audio transcription/closed captioning will be available for all sessions through Wordly, an AI generated voice-to-text tool. You can scan the QR code at the entrance to each session or tap Worldy located in the menu tab in the app, then choose the room your session is in to access the transcript.
Wordly uses generative AI to caption the sessions live.
This could result in minor inaccuracies in the transcription.
Copies of the session transcripts will not be retained by the Society of Actuaries.
Recording & AI Tools Policy
Please note that AI note-taking assistants, recording bots, and similar automated tools are not permitted to attend this meeting. Attendees should not invite or authorize these tools to join on their behalf. Attendance is limited to registered participants only.
Conference Attire
The dress code for this event is business casual. Feel free to wear sneakers or other comfortable shoes to be prepared, as there will be lots of walking throughout the conference.
Session Recordings
The majority of sessions will be audio and slide sync recorded. Recordings will be available in the event app until August 2, 2026. Recordings will not be available after this date.
Safety Information
Your safety and security are important to us. As you enjoy the conference and explore the area, please be mindful of your surroundings. We also recommend removing your conference badge when leaving the meeting venue, as it identifies you as an attendee and can help protect your privacy and personal security while away from conference activities.
Traffic Closures
Washington, DC will be hosting the Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle on June 27–28, which will cause some closures along Pennsylvania Avenue. The Great American State Fair will also be taking place during this time. We recommend checking the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) website for the latest traffic updates and alternate route planning.
