Louis Bélanger, CFA, FRM, joined TD Asset Management Inc. (TDAM) in February 2016, bringing over 18 years of experience in private debt management. In his current role as lead portfolio manager of TDAM's private debt initiative, Bélanger is responsible for managing private debt portfolios and raising capital on behalf of TDAM's institutional clients. Prior to joining TDAM, he served as managing director for a Canadian financial services company, where Bélanger established the firm's asset management division in 2011 with the creation of the first two private infrastructure debt funds in Canada. In his prior roles at major Canadian life insurance firms, he was involved in managing private debt transactions in a variety of sectors and fixed income portfolios matching insurance liabilities. Bélanger holds a bachelors of economics with honors from Bishop's University and a master’s of science in finance from the Université de Sherbrooke.
Alexander Pekker, ASA, CFA, Ph.D.

Alexander Pekker, ASA, CFA, Ph.D., is a senior investment director and investment actuary in Cambridge Associates’ pension practice. He brings over a decade of investment industry experience to single-employer, multiemployer, public pension plans, healthcare institutions and insurance companies. Pekker specializes in asset allocation, investment strategy design, risk management, asset/liability analysis and liability-hedging. He has authored or co-authored papers on corporate and multiemployer pension strategy, liability-hedging portfolio design and implementation and various fixed income topics.
Prior to joining Cambridge in 2016, Pekker led the quantitative strategies group at Sage Advisory Services, developing customized investment solutions for institutional investors. Prior to Sage, he worked at Wilshire Associates in fixed income analytics and at Mercer in actuarial consulting. Pekker holds a doctorate in mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin and master’s degrees from Harvard University and Stanford University.
Managing Director - Nuveen Private Markets
Brian Roelke is a managing director and head of Private Capital for Nuveen Private Markets. In this capacity, he sits on the private markets investment committee and leads a group of investment professionals responsible for originating investment transactions in private asset classes including: debt private placements, project finance, credit tenant loans, private ABS, senior leveraged loans, mezzanine, and private equity funds and co-investments. In addition, Roelke is a member of the Churchill Asset Management Board of Directors and Churchill’s investment committee. He previously served as head of debt private placements and in several different positions throughout TIAA’s organization. Roelke has over 22 years of industry experience and joined the TIAA organization in 2002. He earned a bachelor’s in history and economics from Colgate University and a master’s in finance and accounting from New York University, where he was a Stern Scholar, awarded a Stern Fellowship and was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society.
Nilesh T. Patel, FSA, FCIA

Nilesh Patel, FSA, FCIA, joined TD Asset Management (TDAM) in April 2012. At TDAM, his primary responsibility is for the quality of the overall client service relationship. Patel maintains ongoing dialogue with clients to ensure that TDAM fully understands their current and evolving needs, takes a proactive approach to providing investment solutions and operational excellence. In addition, his responsibilities include marketing and business development. Prior to joining TDAM, Patel spent 16 years with an HR consulting firm as a retirement consultant and relationship manager. His responsibilities included developing cost and risk mitigation strategies for some of the largest pension plans in the country. He was also responsible for new business development within and across different lines of business. Patel has a bachelors in mathematics from the University of Waterloo and is also a fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and Society of Actuaries (SOA). He also serves on committees within the North American actuarial profession.
