One of the most difficult decisions actuaries can face is when to report a possible violation of the Actuarial Code of Conduct by another actuary. Precept 13 of the Actuarial Code of Conduct (titled “Violations of the Code of Professional Conduct”) has been "affectionately" referred to as the "snitch rule" and illustrates the depth of concern actuaries face when a fellow actuary is involved.
Often there is not a simple answer as to whether a code violation has occurred – this webcast will help to identify some of these issues. The heart of any profession is to maintain the integrity of the profession, as outlined in Precept 13. While it is unlikely for most actuaries to ever face a Precept 13 issue, the webcast will provide guidance for handling a Precept 13 violation, should it ever arise.
