To my esteemed colleagues, it is my honor to be on the slate of the candidate for the board of the SOA, an organization representing a profession that brings so much value to our employers and the greater public. In our times of great change to the economy, technology (especially AI), social and demographics, our profession is needed more than ever if we stay relevant. With your vote, I hope to contribute to the relevancy and growth of our profession and organization to the benefit of society. Thank you.

Describe your interest in serving on the SOA Board of Directors, including what motivates you to pursue Board service at this time and the specific ways you believe you could add value to the organization.

The Board of Directors is an important part of helping the SOA achieve its mission, and Asia increasingly plays an important role in the SOA and its mission. Asian actuaries have a lot to contribute and also learn by interacting with the SOA actuaries around the world. Governments and employers (insurance companies, technology companies, investment funds, etc.) are increasingly looking for leadership in the areas of AI, medical, and social security program design and operation in addition to the expertise that actuaries have in pricing, valuation, ERM. Asia is a unique region with more than half the global population and the center of economic growth along with many challenges such as low income in South/Southeast Asia, high income but aging population (North Asia) and everywhere in between. We are uniquely able to benefit from the experience of the SOA and its members. Thank you.
