Candidate Message
Dear fellow members,
Practical AI fluency, a global operator's lens, real governance experience — that's what I'd bring to the Board table.
- I’m a Singapore-based FSA with two decades across Asia's markets — China, Singapore, Vietnam, India, Malaysia, Indonesia.
- I'm a hands-on AI practitioner who builds and runs the technology every day.
- I'm a life-insurance board director in China and Vietnam, a former CFO and Chief Actuary.
- I now lead business development for Asia's emerging markets.
Board members serve as fiduciaries for our profession. What I offer is perspective:
- A view shaped outside North America, and
- Fluent in the forces (e.g. AI and globalization) reshaping our work.
Our future is both global and technological. I'd be honored to help navigate both.

Questionnaire
Describe your interest in serving on the SOA Board of Directors, including what motivates you to pursue Board service at this time and the specific ways you believe you could add value to the organization.
The actuarial profession is at an inflection point. AI is rewriting how risk is modelled, climate and longevity are stretching the boundaries of what insurance must cover, and the recent SOA bylaw amendment opens the Board to international voices. I'd like to help shape that next chapter.
A Singapore-based Singaporean Fellow with 22 years operating across Asia (Singapore, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, etc.) with senior roles of Chief Actuary, CFO, Business leader, Board director roles, I bring a working operator's lens from the highest-growth region for our profession.
I am also a hands-on AI practitioner active in SOA's Emerging Topics AI work and the Societal Purpose Project. My contribution would be to push the Board's strategy to the edge of where actuarial value is moving next—globally relevant, technology-fluent, and grounded in member outcomes.
