Candidate Message

Hello Actuaries!  My name is Greg Warren, and I am grateful to be an endorsed candidate for the Society of Actuaries Board of Directors. 

My motivations to serve on the SOA Board of Directors stem from my gratitude for the actuarial profession and all the opportunities it has provided throughout my career and from my passion to see the actuarial profession grow and further contribute to the mission of helping people affordably obtain better health care and financial security around the world.

Over my health actuarial career of more than thirty years, I’ve had the opportunity to lead one of the largest health actuarial consulting firms in the world, serve as a CFO of a top ten PBM and now currently serve as an entrepreneurial Partner at a boutique health actuarial consulting firm.  

I’ve also been blessed to serve on the boards of directors of four nonprofit organizations and have learned that leadership and governance are different for a board member than for an executive and are also very different for nonprofit organizations than for for-profit companies. 

I believe my skills and experience can be applied to strategically strengthen and broaden the actuarial profession both geographically and through the creation of more opportunities for actuaries as we grow our professional relationships and collaborate more across industries, professions, disciplines and geographies.

Describe your interest in serving on the SOA Board of Directors, including what motivates you to pursue Board service at this time and the specific ways you believe you could add value to the organization.

My motivations to pursue the opportunity to serve on the SOA Board of Directors stem from my gratitude for the actuarial profession and my passion to see it grow and to further the mission of helping people affordably obtain better health care and financial security around the world. I believe my skills and experience can be applied to strategically strengthen and broaden the actuarial profession both geographically and through the creation of more opportunities for actuaries.

My executive business and actuarial leadership skills and experience and my nonprofit board of directors' skills and experience can be applied to the SOA's strategic planning, technological innovation and application, risk management and organizational governance to strengthen the profession and its collaboration with other organizations, across industries, professions, disciplines and geographies.
