Strategic Planning Task Force
The SOA Strategic Planning Task Force is responsible for building the 2017-2021 Strategic Plan based on environmental trends, the actuarial skillset and, most importantly, member feedback that's been gathered during 2015-16.

Robert W. Stein, FSA, CPA, MAAA
Aviva plc, Assurant, Resolution Life, Ernst & Young (Retired)
Bob, served as global managing partner of Actuarial Services of Ernst & Young. He spent most of his working life at Ernst & Young, where he held a number of managing partner roles including actuarial, insurance and financial services practices in the US and globally. Bob served as the chair of the SOA-commissioned Blue Ribbon Panel on Public Pension Plan Funding.
Chantal Bray, FSA, FIA, EA, MAAA
Global Head of Pension Risk
Chantal is the global head of Pension Risk for HSBC in London with responsibility for managing the risks and capital of the bank's c180 pension funds in 58 countries. Her areas of expertise are pension and risk management. Chantal has been involved with the SOA Pension Section Council and continuing education.
Larry J. Bruning, FSA, MAAA
Managing Life Actuary

Larry works on implementation of the Principle-based Reserving methodology within the state insurance regulatory structure and supporting state insurance regulators providing input to the Federal Insurance Office and the Financial Stability Oversight Council. He has served on the SOA Board from 2011-14.
Janet Duncan, FSA, FCAS, MAAA
University of California, Santa Barbara
Janet has over 25 years of property/casualty experience, including commercial and personal lines reserving and pricing. She has served on several committees for the American Academy of Actuaries, Casualty Actuarial Society and the SOA on education and industry issues.
Gordon Enderle, FSA, EA, MAAA

Gordon is a senior retirement consultant with Willis Towers Watson focusing on single-employer pension plans. He is a former chairperson of the Actuarial Standard Board Pension Committee and co-author of The Pension Actuary's Guide to Financial Economics .
Cindy Forbes, FSA, FCIA, MAAA
Executive Vice President & Chief Analytics Officer
Cindy has had many executive roles at Manulife Financial. She spent some time in Japan as the acting chief actuary and chief risk officer for Manulife Japan. Cindy was named one of Canada's Most Powerful Women by the Women's Executive Network in 2011 and again in 2015.
Mark Freedman, FSA, MAAA
Ernst & Young
Mark is a retired principal of Ernst & Young. As a consulting actuary, he focused on various financial, risk and transactional issues for many global insurers. Mark is also a past president of the SOA and currently serves on the SOA Board.
Jennifer Gillespie, FSA, MAAA

Jennifer is responsible for underwriting and eligibility for commercial business and developing new risk sharing models for Health insurers. Jennifer has served on the SOA Board and currently serves on the Nominating Committee. She is a facilitator at Fellowship Admissions Courses, and is a member of the Centers of Actuarial Excellence Evaluation Committee.
Elizabeth Jobe, FSA, MAAA

Liz has primary responsibility for the development and implementation of strategies that mitigate and manage the dynamic risks in an evolving individual health care marketplace. She volunteers for the SOA specifically around strategic planning.
Jim Mange, FSA, MAAA
Jim has over 30 years of insurance industry experience including previous positions with The Travelers Companies, Inc. (UnitedHealth Group) and Connecticut General Life Insurance Company (CIGNA). Jim is a long-term volunteer of the SOA, including service as general chair of the Education Executive Group.
Jennie McGinnis, FSA, CERA, MAAA

Jennie is an inforce portfolio manager. She has responsibilities for enhancing the value of the Americas Life and Health portfolio and creating new opportunities with clients. She is an SOA Board member with responsibilities for Professional Development and Leadership Development Committees.
Albert J. Moore, ASA, MAAA

Albert leads a team of actuaries, developers and QA who produce a suite of programs to illustrate and support the company's life, annuity and disability insurance sales and project inforce contracts. Albert has spoken on big data opportunities and served as the chair for the SOA Technology Section.
Roger Rosales, FSA, CERA

Roger has responsibilities for financial planning, enterprise risk management, and source of earnings at Standard Insurance Company. He volunteers for the SOA specifically around strategic planning, and inclusion and diversity.
Ken Seng Tan, ASA, CERA

Ken Seng is a professor in actuarial science and publishes in leading actuarial, finance and mathematics journals. He has received several awards, including the 1996-97 Redington Prize, the NAAJ Annual Prizes 2001 and 2003, and the 2012 Charles A. Hachemeister.
Ling-Ling Wang, FSA, CERA, MAAA

Ling-Ling coordinates and supervises actuarial functions for the entire group. She is actively involved in the rule setting stage of IAIS international capital standard with the goal for appropriate consideration for China insurance industry. Ling-Ling has been a SOA volunteer throughout her career.
Yu-Hwa (Claire) Wang, FSA

Claire was a senior vice president of Product Development and Actuarial with Nan Shan Life Insurance, subsequent to the leadership role with Paris Management Consultant Co. Claire served as the president of the Actuarial Institute of Taiwan in 2015.
