Society of Actuaries Releases Full-Year 2025 Diversity Report

August 18, 2026, Chicago, IL — The Society of Actuaries (SOA) has released its updated 2025 Diversity Report, providing a comprehensive view of demographic trends across membership from January through December 2025. The report reflects the SOA's ongoing commitment to fostering a more diverse actuarial profession by measuring progress and sharing insights into the evolving makeup of its membership and leadership.

The SOA is committed to creating an environment where members and candidates have opportunities to enter, grow, and lead within the profession. Through the work of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEIC), the SOA continues to collaborate with leadership and staff to expand pathways for participation, strengthen leadership opportunities, and support research that benefits the profession.

Since 2015, the SOA has collected voluntarily submitted demographic data on race, ethnicity, and gender from its candidates and members, including those pursuing or holding ASA or FSA designations. This year's report includes:

  • U.S. and global membership demographics
  • U.S. demographics of new members and new candidates entering the examination pathway
  • Volunteer and leadership participation trends
  • A newly added appendix detailing the percentage of U.S. members and candidates who self-identified as Black, Hispanic, Native American, and/or Asian—including those who selected multiple identities

The SOA encourages members and candidates to review the report and help ensure its continued accuracy by updating their demographic information within their membership profiles.
