Summary

Residents of Taiwan are becoming more engaged in retirement planning, but younger groups remain less prepared than Retirees. Confidence and interest in lifetime income products have grown, while healthcare, inflation, longevity, and long-term care remain major risks.

Key Findings

  1. Retirees are the most prepared, particularly in income, asset, healthcare, and expense planning.
  2. Confidence is improving, but only 60% believe they have enough savings for retirement.
  3. Healthcare and inflation are the leading concerns, followed by long-term care and outliving assets.
  4. Demand for protection products is strong, with 74% considering lifetime annuities and high interest in health-linked coverage.
  5. Coverage gaps remain, especially for dementia and long-term care insurance despite strong purchase interest.
