This one-day intensive seminar will cover the topic of Reinsurance for individual insurance companies. While the seminar will start with the basics as an introduction, it is meant to be an intensive deep-dive into many of the more complicated reinsurance programs in use by insurance organizations today.
Insurance companies have for years used traditional reinsurance to help with various risk management issues. These traditional solutions still exist, but the business of reinsurance has continued to evolve. More complex and sophisticated reinsurance structures have been utilized to help companies manage capital, transfer risk and in some cases reduce reserve strain. Many actuaries at insurance companies do not have the opportunity to focus on understanding reinsurance issues and challenges in their daily work. That is one of the motivations behind organizing this boot camp.
This one-day boot camp will take the attendees from the basics of individual reinsurance through to the more complex and innovative reinsurance strategies in use today. Topics will cover life and annuity reinsurance structures, as well as the capital and reserve financing structures, and how these structures affect insurance organizations.
