Description: The Committee's charge was to develop new disability tables for possible adoption by appropriate authorities for valuation of individual policy reserves, i.e. active life reserves, and individual and group claim reserves for disabled lives. It was generally agreed that the current valuation table, the 1964 Commissioner’s Disability Table, ‘1964 CDT,’ was no longer appropriate for several reasons. Description: The report of the Society of Actuaries' Committee to Recommend New Disability Tables for Valuation was presented to the Board of Governors on January 15, and was authorized for an exposure draft to Society members. An abridged section of the report was mailed to all members February 1.

Discussion covered history of the development of the tables and Barnhart's proposal for a change in method for determining the statutory minimum LTD open claim reserves.
