2024 Health Meeting - Session 5G: Medicare Advantage Headwinds and Forward Looking Strategies 6.25.24 Recording

The Medicare Advantage (MA) program is facing challenges in the coming years due to a number of headwinds: Star rating program changes, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), revenue pressures, mergers/acquisitions, and risk score model changes, just to name a few. These will introduce challenges such that it will be difficult for many MAOs to continue to offer benefits at the level they have in the past, in order to attract members to their organization while maintaining margin levels without significant investments or changes in their business models. This session will address each of these headwinds, and more, and provide stakeholders with considerations and strategies to manage these various uncertainties. At the conclusion of the session, attendees will be able to better understand the challenges MA plans face and how to prioritize addressing the various headwinds.
