In this session, we will provide examples and highlight real-world analytics that have been done to compare providers of tertiary and quaternary (T/Q) services (i.e., complex and potentially rare conditions). We also will address the need for analytics like this, who the potential audiences are, the data necessary to complete an analysis, and we will walk through actual case studies. The comparisons will include relative effectiveness, financial and quality outcomes, value versus volume, and strategies for delivering the analysis to relevant audiences. With the growth in T/Q conditions and services, there is a distinct lack of knowledge about the implications these have for providers and payers. Attendees will learn the impacts of analysis like this, the identification of the priorities of the various stakeholders and audiences, and how to design an analysis.
