RISQ: Questions on Risk—An Inter-college Competition Conducted by ISAC
- ISAC is hosting the first of its kind practical inter-college competition on Risk, scheduled in the first quarter of Calendar Year 2026.
- Through the RisQ competition, the Society of Actuaries (SOA) intends to:
- Introduce the concept of risks and its management amongst college fraternity
- Highlight the growing opportunities and need for effective risk management in today’s world
- Promote actuarial science as a profession focused on risk and insurance
- Present the SOA as the largest global organization for accrediting actuaries
- Across different rounds, the competition is structured around:
- Evaluating risks related to large entities that have a wide business interest
- Studying listed companies as they have most widely available public disclosures
- Efficient methods understood for risk identification and probability of occurrence
- Creativity judged in evaluating the impact of risk and its mitigation path
- Interactive skills tested in Q&A sessions
- Through a competitive mode, there is an introduction to risk management.
- The event will be across primary metros in India, and the winners will participate online at a national event.
