In December 2025, SOA launched the India Emerging Risk Survey – 2026. This is a key study designed by SOA Research Institute to capture how actuaries and risk professionals view both current and emerging risks in the India market. This is the second year of this survey and will provide data for intertemporal analysis for the first time.
As risks evolve in complexity and impact, risk industry professionals’ insights are critical. Emerging risks that lack sufficient historical precedent pose unique challenges for organizations as they navigate strategic planning and risk management. The perspective evolved from the survey will help shape a deeper industry-wide understanding of these issues. While completing the future emerging risk section, respondents are expected to consider a broader 3- to 5-year strategic horizon, beyond short-term planning cycles providing expectation-based data for analysis.
The survey has been extended for responses from senior industry professionals, and the data has been gathered through January 2026. Preliminary analysis and results will be presented at a session during the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI)-organized Global Conference of Actuaries (GCA) in February 2026.
