Society of Actuaries Announces University-Earned Credit Status to the Actuarial Program at Nanyang Technological University

Chicago, IL, Feb. 27, 2026 — The Society of Actuaries (SOA) has recognized the actuarial program at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as the first university in Singapore with University-Earned Credit (UEC) accreditation status. Universities that are recognized as UEC offer courses that allow students the opportunity to earn exam credit toward the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).

With the addition of NTU, there are 25 Centers of Actuarial Excellence (CAE) universities worldwide that are approved to offer University-Earned Credit. These programs are located in the U.S., Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong and, now, Singapore.

Actuarial programs at universities help extend opportunities to even more students and ensure they are prepared for their future careers as actuaries. The SOA congratulates the faculty, staff and students of NTU’s actuarial program on their achievements.

The SOA provides several efforts to grow the actuarial profession. The organization prepares actuaries to be business leaders who leverage data, technology and judgment to create responsible risk solutions. Learn more about the SOA’s UEC program.
