A Summary of the Updated Medical Loss Ratio Methodology and Historical Results

The SOA is releasing this brief report which summarizes the most current Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) methodology highlighting some of the most recent changes in methodology and requirements. This report also examines the trends in insurer MLR rebates and other financial characteristics extracted from the US government’s public use files.
