Americans are noticing these changes. In a survey conducted by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) Research Institute, the majority of Americans have reported that extreme weather events-including hurricanes, tornadoes, heatwaves, wildfires, and flooding-have had negative impacts on their health (53%), property (51%), communities (58%) and feelings of general safety (65%). In this session, the presenters will discuss the science behind climate change and the associated risk.
