The speakers of this session will discuss the hedging implication of the proposed AG 43/VM-21 and C3 Phase II framework. Additionally, methodology computational requirements, back-testing results under different economic scenarios and the resulting hedge credits of different hedging strategies will be compared, including explicit dynamic hedge and implicit dynamic hedge. The speakers will also touch on the impact of rebalance frequency on the performance of dynamic hedge. Case studies will be presented to provide guidance on practical implementation.

The author suggests an alternative that better meets a corporation's overall risk management needs. This is value-based ERM, which is an approach that makes the quantification of enterprise value central to all aspects of the ERM process. It is a combination of two techniques—enterprise risk management and value-based management, and it captures all of the risks in a single metric.

Description: Latin America offers significant opportunities for insurers due to its emerging middle class, low insurance penetration, and potential partnerships. The region's insurance market has seen substantial growth, with gross written life insurance premiums increasing by 212% from 2011 to 2022. However, challenges such as low digital adoption and distribution limitations exist. A hybrid approach combining digital platforms with traditional agent support is recommended to address these issues. Strategic alliances with local financial institutions can also facilitate market entry. Despite these challenges, the Latin American insurance market remains highly profitable and resilient, making it an attractive area for expansion
