Description: The 2009 Vietnam experience study includes both mortality and persistency studies of policies in force any time during the 2004-2008 study period. The study applies to the entire portfolios of the contributing companies and these companies represent the entire Vietnam individual life insurance market. Separate studies were performed based upon policy counts and insurance in force. Actual mortality was compared to expected mortality based upon the SOA 1975-80 select and ultimate mortality table.

Description: Scale BB was introduced in March 2012 as an interim mortality improvement scale which may be used by pension actuaries until work on a formal successor to the widely used improvement scale, Scale AA, is complete.

Description: The Mortality Improvement Survey Subcommittee of the Society's Committee on Life Insurance Mortality & Underwriting Surveys has completed its report on the results of a survey to examine mortality improvement practices with respect to annuity insurance pricing in both the US and Canada. A few questions were asked about functions other than pricing.

Description: This is an Impairment Study Capture System (ISCS) study of contemporary Diabetes Mellitus mortality among insured lives. The policies were issued at standard or substandard premium rates between 1989 and 2002 policy anniversaries.

Description: This study examines the GLB utilization of over 4.6 million contracts that were either issued during or in force as of 2012.

Description: The attached report presents the results of a survey whose purpose was to explore the various uses of technology by life insurance companies. The survey was conducted by the Technology Survey Subcommittee of the Society of Actuaries Life Insurance Mortality and Underwriting Survey Committee. The primary focus of this survey was the impact of technology on mortality studies and underwriting.
