Description: This session will examine bias from a social science perspective. It will discuss the three types of systemic biases using the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) model. The NIST model details the three types as historical bias, societal bias, and institutionalbias. The session will also provide several examples of each type to provide a framework for identifying the social structure of bias.

Description: In this session, participate in a mock negotiation of a typical value based contract taking on the role of either provider or payer and solving for the various negotiation challenges, objections, risk mitigations, data requirements, etc. from either party. Attendees will learn best practices and ideal tools and workflows to engage in when supporting VBC negotiations and gain insights into the typical challenges to equitable and agreeable terms.
