Description: On an annual basis, the Retirement Plan Experience Committee (RPEC) uses national-level data sources to study recent U.S. general population mortality trends. RPEC summarizes this data in an annual report, and, when appropriate, uses the data to develop a new mortality projection (MP) scale. The webcast will present RPEC’s most recent analysis, covering data from 2019 through June 2025, and will explain RPEC’s decision in recent years not to issue a new mortality projection scale. In addition, the webcast will provide a demonstration of the calculation tool that RPEC uses to analyze recent mortality data. This tool can be downloaded from the SOA’s website.
