The study was designed to analyze the surrender activity of deferred annuities by selected product, customer, and distribution characteristics. Another purpose of the analysis is to quantify, through modeling procedures, the relationship between surrender activity and variables associated with surrender. Quantifying this relationship is useful in product design, valuation, investment management, evaluation of market performance, and corporate planning.
